We met with David the summer of 2016 about building our new home. David understood what our vision and budget were to be and off we went. We started construction in September 2016. David was always on time and kept our project running smoothly. We had a lot of input of what and how we wanted things and he listened to our needs all the way. His finish work is amazing and he knows his craft. We moved into our beautiful new home in April 2017. As if now we have been here for almost 1.5 years and no issues or problems. I highly recommend Agate Bay Construction. If you need to see his work in person give him and call.

It is my absolute pleasure to recommend Agate Bay Construction and David Babbitt. When we first met David for our large renovation project, he was thoughtful, price conscious, and had such amazing insight and vision. He gave us amazing ideas which turned out beautifully. He was extremely hands-on and so vested in an excellent outcome. He was very detail orientated which was something we really needed. Everyone he brought into our home was respectful and had similar values. We have called him back for several more projects and the results have been the same. There is no one I trust more for advice and construction work on our home. We still say how much we miss seeing him in our home every day. We look to many more projects in the future and give him and Agate bay Construction our highest recommendation.

We have had multiple home projects but by far this has been the easiest and the most productive. Working with David and his crew exceeded our expectations. We have a classic South Hill home and had to convert our veranda into a first-floor bedroom as well as remodel our first-floor bathroom. David’s attention to detail and craftsmanship enhanced the home’s beauty and gave us greater first-floor utility without the sacrifice of the home’s original architectural style. We and our neighbors agree the project has improved the home’s exterior appearance and provides the interior with a richness that is continuous with its original design. It is my privilege to recommend Agate Bay Construction for your next construction needs! After getting to know the owner, David Babbitt, I have learned that he is an ethical man that is conscientious, caring and vested in every project that he takes on. His hands-on approach, both mentally and physically is evident in every aspect of his profession! He will ensure that the job is done correctly, paying attention to every detail that encompasses your project! We hired David to remediate the fallout of what turned out to be substandard building practices by a previous unethical contractor. This included replacing multiple windows and doors that were improperly installed and flashed, complete exterior siding replacement, and interior drywall and paint. As well, David masterfully coordinated the mold remediation in our home (as a direct result of the leaking windows). Air samples taken by an environmentalist after the project was completed proved the effectiveness of David’s diligence, as our home came back with a clean Bill of Health! After David completed that initial phase of our project, he undertook the next substantial phase of our remediation! This has included demolishing our previous concrete deck that was not structurally sound, waterproofed or sloped correctly. Together, we have collaborated to design and build a new deck that will stand the test of time. David has sought out and worked flawlessly with a design consultant, engineer and sub-trades to make this project come to life. His attention to detail is second to none! Without his dedication and expertise, we would not be where we are today, living in our home, knowing it is a healthy and safe place to live and raise our family! He took a very stressful and challenging situation with our home and gave us hope, and moreover, made that hope a reality. David Babbitt of Agate Bay Construction is an ethical man that lives by many of the same core values that we all live by! He will bring these values to your project and diligently work to your complete satisfaction!

Last year we hired Agate Bay to undertake two simultaneous bathroom remodels. I don’t have enough superlatives for David Babbitt and his team at Agate Bay Construction. I was extremely impressed by David’s organizational skill, his vision for my project, the skills of his workers and subs, and the care and clean-up of my home. The workers and subs were on time, worked extremely hard and everyone was friendly and pleasant to be around. In comparison to other remodels we’ve done, Dave’s pricing was transparent, fair and he came in below the budgeted price he had estimated. When does that ever happen? I actually was sad to see the team go. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Agate Bay Construction again.

David took the ugliest room in our 1920’s craftsman home and turned it into a thing of beauty. There are many challenges in our old house and David met each one of them with consideration, patience and skill. His attention to detail and craftsmanship is unsurpassed. He is on time, tidy, conscientious, and diligent in his work at a great price value and we enjoyed his presence throughout the project. Our bathroom remodel turned out far better than we imagined! We will definitely bring David Babbitt with Agate Bay Construction back for future projects and highly recommend his services.

David surpassed our expectations in our bathroom remodel. It is now our favorite room in the house! He worked with all of our requests and his attention to detail was outstanding. He was on time, respectful, and fastidious. We gutted the room, eliminated the tub/shower, built-in cabinets and a large shower with a rolling glass door. Hire David! you’ll be glad you did.

It is my pleasure to recommend David Babbitt and Agate Bay Construction for any construction need you may have. David was fantastic to work with during our extensive remodel. Originally, we contracted him to work on a media room remodel, through a recommendation from Devine Interiors. Our confidence in his expertise and work ethic quickly grew. He also remodeled one of our bathrooms, a basement apartment, and a variety of projects on the exterior of our home. Now that the projects are completed, I can say that we are thrilled with the quality of his work.

If I had to pinpoint reasons why our remodel was so successful, I would attribute it to the following factors:

David excels at communication. He communicates honestly and realistically about deadlines, cost, and any issues that may arise. This communication helps to create fair expectations on both sides.

We also found David to be very detail-oriented. He seemed to always be several steps ahead in thought process for our remodel, and asked for our input for every single detail.

We would say that David is a quality individual, seeming to want to “do the right thing.” Not only was that quality evident in his interactions with our friends and family, but it was also obvious in the materials, work, and subcontractors he chose to use.

David showed flexibility and grace as the remodel progressed. There were a handful of times that we need to make changes, and he took everything in stride.

My husband and I would not hesitate to contact David if we have construction needs in the future. I have also recommended him to my friends and neighbors.

We have nothing but good things to report regarding Agate Bay construction and its owner David Babbitt. During the late summer and early fall of 2018 David replaced all of the windows in our 40 year old home,most of the siding, rebuilt front and back decks and did a number of other crucial updates and repairs. He also provided and coordinated subcontractors including paint and drywall and electrical.We were also quite pleased with that work. I can’t say enough about David Babbitt and his company Agate Bay Construction. I consider them to be the best in the business. I have hired Agate Bay to do two remodels, both of which went like clockwork. Both turned out beautifully. I give David’s name out any time someone asks if I know a good contractor!

We hired Agate Bay Construction in 2016 to do some renovations of our kitchen and living areas after we bought our home in Semiahmoo in 2015. David and his crew did a great job installing our countertops, backsplash and custom focal point above our stove. He also installed a door to the office, and stonework and mantles above our 2 fireplaces, and some painting. His work is excellent, he is trustworthy and fair, and has a great crew. We’ve recommended him to our neighbors and he did a great job for them as well. I can’t say enough about Agate Bay.
